Vincent W. Daniels

Vincent Daniels of Danville, IN formerly of Whiting, IN passed away on June 22, 2022 surrounded by his family. Vincent was born in Gary, IN on September 15, 1932 to his parents Frank and Helen Daniels.

Vincent is survived by his wife Frances Daniels, three daughters, Laura (Reed) Blair, Diane (Steve) McManus and Helen (Joel)Calvin and his five grandchildren:  Veronica, Thurman, Brett, Abigail and Arthur.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.  He moved into a bigger house when he retired to have room for his growing family to all visit.

Vincent earned a master’s degree in education at Indiana University.  He worked as a guidance counselor for Whiting,Marquette, and Andrean High Schools. He was also a former school principal, history teacher, drivers’ education instructor and coach of high school cross country and golf and elementary school basketball.

Vincent loved to laugh and make others laugh.  He always wanted to hear a good joke.  He enjoyed working in the yard, bird watching, listening to music, caring for his Collies and watching sports.  

Friends and family will gather on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Mary Queen of Peace in Danville, Indiana at 10 am for an hour of visitation.  The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am.  Vincent will be laid to rest on the following day, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Calvary Cemetery in Portage, Indiana at 11 am Eastern Time, 10 am Central Time.
