Theodore Allen Obituary

Theodore “Ted” Sullivan Allen, 75, died suddenly but peacefully at his Florida vacation home on the morning of Friday, May 5th.

Ted was born in Galion, OH, on December 15, 1947, the only son of Margaret Loretta (Sullivan) and Roger Wendel Allen. The family moved to Tiffin, OH, where Ted attended Tiffin Calvert High School. After graduating, he continued his education at Marian University in Indianapolis, IN.

While at Marian (1966-1970), Ted was president of the Biology Club, enjoyed playing the trumpet in the Drum & Bugle Corps, performing in theater, and singing in the choir. It was also at Marian where he met his wife of 52 years, Sara.

He organized dinner theater attendance as a member and President of the Marian Alumni Indianapolis Charter. Ted continued to serve on the Alumni Board and organized the annual Easter Egg Hunt for children of alumni at Marian.

Ted spent much of his adult life as an employee of National Starch. He was an extremely patient husband and an amazing dad.

He is survived by his wife, Sara (Greubel) Allen. Ted and Sara have three children: Tara (Andy Cunningham), Teddy (Jennifer), and Shannon (Shane Horstmann), and five granddaughters: Brooklyn, Taylor, Sydney, Masyn, and Livi.
