Stephen Terry Billington, loving husband and father, 56, of North Salem, Indiana passed away suddenly July 28, 2021. Steve was born February 22, 1965 in Meunchweiler Germany Army Hospital to Robert and Barbara (Jones) Billington. He grew up in Mooresville, Indiana and Phoenix, Arizona. His father was a Baptist minister, and Steve had a love for Jesus at an early age.
He loved God and his country and served in the Army with the 2nd Infantry Division. He was stationed in Korea at the DMZ and then later at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
Steve loved shooting and fly fishing. He made beautiful flies and was a member of the veterans organization Project Healing Waters. He also loved gardening and photography and took beautiful photos while out fishing.
Those who knew Steve knew him as a gentle giant who was fiercely protective of his family and freedoms.
Of all of his accomplishments, his greatest was being a father to Sam. He was a loving and protective husband to his wife, Andy, for over 31 years.
Steve had wonderful friends growing up, Doug, Perry, James, Neil, and his best friend, Rick Jackson.
Steve leaves behind his wife, Andy; his son, Samuel; his mother, Barbara (Jones) Billlington; his sisters, Cindy (Billington) Daravanis and Kristi (Billington) Kessler; and his brother, David Billington.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Billington; his son, David; and his daughter, Bernadina.
A celebration of life will be held for all friends and family on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 9:00 am at Venture Church in Lizton, Indiana. There will be a military honors burial at Fairview Cemetery in North Salem, followed by a luncheon back at the church.
Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana will be handling the arrangements.
