Raymond E. Jeter, Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully, March 5, 2024, in Danville, IN. The following is an obituary written by his loving family.
Raymond Earl Jeter, Jr. was born November 11, 1949, in Indianapolis. His parents were Raymond and Ruth (Bennett) Jeter. He lived in Indianapolis and went to Tech High School Class of '68. He served in Vietnam until 1971. After the war he worked at Rexnord/LINKBELT for 50 years until he retired. After retirement he enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time with family and friends. Raymond spent most of his time after retirement being outdoors and working with his son, Anthony, at Sun Fun Pools. Anyone who knew Raymond always saw him with a smile and enjoyed being around him. He is survived by his two sons, Brian (wife Bridget) Jeter and Anthony ( wife Deidra) Jeter; his daughter, Beth (husband Brent) Long; his nine grandchildren, Kagan, Kyler, Kovey and Emmalyn Jeter, Peyton, Zach, and Alix Jeter, and Adri Isaacs, and Cooper Long; and his one great-grandchild, Lyam Jeter.
Friends and family will gather from 4pm until 7 pm, Monday, March 11, in the Eric MD Bell Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, March 12 at the Funeral Home.
He will be laid to rest following the funeral in the Lizton K of P Cemtery, with Full Military Honors in recognition of his service to his country in the United States Army.
