The following is an obituary written by Norma’s loving family.
Norma Lee Sickles, a.k.a. Mimi, 81 of Lizton, entered eternal rest on February 9, 2023. Norma passed away at home with loving family by her side. She was born March 31, 1941, to Henry and Virginia Mitchell. On April 21, 1963, she married Jim L. Sickles. He survives, along with her son, Jimmy L. (Rebecca) Sickles; sister, Claudia (Dwayne) Albertson; grandchildren, Abigail, Emily, and Devon; great-grandchildren, Elliot and Maddox; and many nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Benny Mitchell and James Harold Mitchell; and her sister, Patsy Hasty.
Norma worked for many companies over the years. She was a private secretary for Allison’s for seven years, and for Scott Industries for a few years. She was a secretary for Dr. Lovel and Dr. Harris, and she worked for Hendricks Regional Hospital. She was also a secretary for her husband for 25 years.
Norma loved music. She sang and played the 12-string guitar with our group, “Just Us Review”, for many years. She loved to do yard work, mowing the lawn and taking great care of our home. Norma will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The Sickles Family would like to thank family, friends, and our special neighbors for their support and kindness during our trying times. We also want to thank Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home and Life’s Journey Hospice Care. A SPECIAL thanks to Nicole and Tiffany of Life’s Journey, for the great care and support.
Life will never be the same without our Mimi here on Earth, but she will forever be in our hearts.
Friends and family will gather at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana, on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, from 4pm to 7pm.
