Michelle "Shelly" Renee Marlow-Childress (Hester)

The following is an obituary written by Michelle's loving family.

Michelle Renee "Shelly" Marlow-Childress (Hester) went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 22, 2023, surrounded by her loving family and friends.  Shelly was born in Amarillo, Texas on October 6, 1972, to Donald and Virginia Marlow.  She was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Shelly was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.  Shelly loved all animals and was a strong supporter and volunteer for Wish for Heroes, a non-profit program that provided resources for active-duty service men and women during and after deployment.  

Shelly is preceded in death by her father, Donald Marlow; her mother, Virginia (Fields); her stepfather, Donald Fields; her brother, Michael Marlow; and her sister, Mandy Gregory.  She is survived by her stepmother, Carol Marlow; her sons, Tel and Cole Childress; her grandsons, Dustin, Chet, Charles and Albert; her granddaughter, Caelynn; her siblings, Steve Marlow, Gayle (Brent) Anderson, Gary Marlow, Donald Marlow, Raymond (Kimberly) Marlow, Danny (Kelly) Marlow; her stepsiblings, Valerie (Rudy) Juarez, Garret (Bobbie Jo) Hall; Scott Hester; her many nieces and nephews; as well as her honorary brothers, sisters, and children she called family.  

Shelly will be missed by many and loved by all.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wish for Heroes and the National Brain Tumor Society (braintumor.org) in honor of Michelle Renee Marlow-Childress (Hester).

Friends and family will gather at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 11am to 1pm, with the funeral service beginning at 1pm.  Shelly will be laid to rest in West Ridge Cemetery following the service.
