Madalene Price

Madalene Price, 82 of Lizton, Indiana, peacefully passed away on February 27, 2021.  Madalene was born in Lebanon, Indiana on June 9, 1938 to Albert Leon and Helen Catherine (Garner) Wing.  She graduated from Lizton High School and married the love of her life, John Price, on May 8, 1956, a loving union that would last until his passing.  Madalene helped on her family’s farm and went on to have a brilliant career in her true passion, photography.

Madalene and John established Price Portrait Studio in 1968, where they produced beautiful professional photographs and used their artistic talents in mastering hand-colored portraits.  Madalene was a member of the Professional Photographers of America and captured memories in countless weddings.  She also did the photography for the Hendricks County 4-H Fair for forty years and the Indiana State Fair for thirty-five years, photographing the portraits for the fair queens.  As if that wasn’t enough to showcase her creativity, she wrote a book.  After the passing of her beloved husband, she wrote an autobiography entitled “One Last Thing” to document their marriage and love for their family. 

Survivors include children, Teresa K. (husband Dean) Gibbs and Michael C. (wife Jamie) Price; brother, Thomas (wife Beverly) Wing; sister, Darlene (husband Richard) Alvarez; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband John, and her sister, Janet Arnold.

Friends and family will gather on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 11 am until the time of the service at 1 pm.  Madalene will be laid to rest following the service beside her husband at K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
