Larry Gene Young

The following is an obituary written by Larry's loving family.

Larry Gene Young, 84 of Brownsburg, Indiana, passed away at his home on March 12, 2023. Larry was born on June 17, 1938, in Lebanon, Indiana to Robert A. and Sarah K. (Showalter) Young. On October 16, 1990, he married Sue (Cowan) Young, a loving union of 33 years that would last until his passing.

Larry retired from Olin Corporation in 1993 after 35 years. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed watching sports, and sitting on the porch chatting with the neighbors. Most of all, he cherished the moments spent with his
great-grandchildren, Jamison and Jaylee.

Larry is survived by his sister, Robette (Young) Field; children, Terry Young (Kim), Scott Young (Brenda), Pamela (Henshaw) Young and stepdaughter, Becky Beddow; granddaughter, Jessica Linn (Jeremy); stepson, Jeff Mize and granddaughter, Taylor and (Michael) Switzer and their children Caden, Haylee, Hayden, Luke, Wyatt and Laurajane Switzer, all of Indiana; great-grandchildren, Jamison and Jaylee; grandson, Adam Young; nephews, Nathan Pittman (Amber), Chad Pittman (Bree); and nieces, Mary (Field) Wilson (Jonathan), Kelsie (Field) Blair and their children.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; son, Robert Young (Pam); and brother-in-law, Dale Field (Robette).

Sadly, on March 26th, 2023, Larry’s beloved wife, Sue (Cowan) Young, passed away at their home.

A Celebration of Life of Larry and Sue will be held at Hope Community Church, 3350 N. St. Rd. 267, Brownsburg, IN 46112 on Saturday, April 29th, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with a light lunch following.
