Krystal Paschal Obituary

Krystal Lashawn Paschal, known to many as “KP”, was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 14, 1981 to Valerie “Deanna” Paschal and Marlon “Tony” Rogers. She was the joy of their lives as young parents.

Krystal was educated in the Detroit Public School system where she was a member of the Basketball and Track team. Krystal was always trying new things as a child:  tap dancing, modeling and playing the newest video games. Krystal was a history buff and could tell you everything about Motown. She loved wearing Jordan shoes and her favorite color was purple.

Krystal was the oldest of all her siblings, a role she took very seriously. She was always hanging with her brother Q growing up teaching him how to drive and they were always getting in trouble together. She affectionally took care of her younger brother Buster ensuring he was ready for school everyday helping her mother.

On January 10, 2001 Krystal gave birth to her only daughter Alexys Nieves. Alexys was the light of her mother’s life. She always made sure no matter what was going on in her life she put her daughter first. Krystal and Alexys enjoyed laughing, singing and listening to music together. She taught her daughter how to drive and they loved playing video games together.

KP was the life of the party wherever she went. She was always joking and laughing around her family and friends. Krystal loved music including her favorite musicians Michael Jackson, Kelly Rowland and her favorite girl group of all time the Spice Girls (she knew every lyric of every song they had)

KP worked a variety of jobs throughout her life including Disney World, Marriott hotels and more customer service and production work. Each workplace she encountered she met co-workers who became more like family and everyone loved KP.

KP had many hobbies including going fishing with her mom and daughter which was one of her favorite things in the world to do. She loved the beach, riding roller-coasters and her true happiness was making sure everyone around her laughed and had a good time.

KP married her wife Crystal on June 6, 2019 and relocated from Orlando, Florida to Indianapolis, Indiana late last year. She enjoyed being back in the Midwest and connecting with her family and friends and making new ones.

Krystal tragically departed this life on November 15, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father Tony Rogers; her grandfather, Walter Rogers; her uncles, Halbert Rogers, Tyrone Rogers, and William (Billy) Paschal.
Krystal's life and memory will be celebrated and cherished by her wife, Crystal Jackson-Paschal; her only daughter and love of her life, Alexys Nieves; her mother, Valerie “Deanna” Paschal; her stepmother, Angelic Washington- Lewis; her grandparents, Mildred Rogers and Carrie and William Paschal; her brothers, Quinton Paschal, Buster Mccoy III, Antowne Washington, Martell Washington (Cyrano), and Diontay Gaskin; her sister, Marlena Rogers; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and close friends and family who loved her dearly.
