Karen Meredith Love, 65 of Lizton, Indiana passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on October 25, 2022.  Below is her life story written by her loving family.

Moms story:
Karen Meredith Love passed away peacefully at her home on October 25th.  Karen was born in Melbourne, Florida in September of 1957.  Her parents moved to Indiana in 1959 finally settling in Pittsboro in 1961.  Karen was a member of the final graduating class of Pittsboro High School in 1975 and was a 10-year 4-H member.  Karen married her high school sweetheart, Jerry, on October 20th, 1979.  Together, they raised 3 sons on a family farm in Pittsboro.  They were members of Bethesda Baptist Church in Brownsburg for over 30 years.  She received Magna Cum Laude honors from both Butler University in 1979 and IUPUI School of Law in 1986.  Karen practiced law as an attorney for Ice, Miller, Donadio and Ryan before opening a private law practice in Danville.  Karen served the residents of Hendricks County as the first judge of Hendricks Superior Court 3 from January 1995 until her retirement in May of 2022.  She was instrumental in the development of the Hendricks County Youth Assistance Program and was the first woman to serve on the Board of Directors for the Lizton Financial Corporation, the parent company of what is now State Bank, a post she held for 18 years.

Karen valued relationships with people.  She enjoyed fishing, mowing grass, and working in her vegetable and flower gardens.  Most of all, she treasured her time as “Nan-Nan” for her four grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Boone Meredith.  Karen is survived by her husband, Jerry Love; her mother, Mary Meredith; her step-father, Norris Dee Smith; her step-sisters, Jennifer Masariu (Mike), Julie Wickersham (Mike), Tina Knebel (Kevin); her sons, James Daniel, Adam (Sarah) and Jonathan; her four grandchildren; and numerous family and friends.

Friends and family will gather at Parkside Bible Church from 2 pm until 7 pm, Tuesday, November 1, 2022.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, November 2, 2022 in the Church. She will be laid to rest in the Lizton K of P Cemetery following the Funeral Service.
