Flora Thelma Creech Christensen

August 14, 1932 – May 27, 2021

Flora Christensen, 88, passed away peacefully at her residence on May 27, 2021.  She was married to Ernest “Chris” Christensen for 58 years.  He passed Nov. 2, 2010.  Together they owned and operated Chris’ Lizton Market for 30 years. 

Flora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Rebecca Hogan (Michael), Jane Panarites (Steve), Melissa Myers (Mike) and son David (Karen); grandchildren Rachael and Lauren Hogan, Kate (Evan) Steele, Molly Christensen, and Michael Brodie Myers; great grandchildren Ava Hogan, Colby and Reese Steele.She is also survived by sisters, Lohoma Vertuca, Virginia Faulkner, Margaret Smith, Nancy Bonnema, Phyllis Cable and Frances Brooks.

Flora had resided at Traditions at Reagan Park in Avon for the past several years where she had many friends.  Her very special friend was Bonnie Storen and her devoted sister, Margaret Smith.  The family truly appreciates the staff at Traditions for their loving care and support for many years and to Brookdale Hospice for the recent  care. Her daughter, Jane, has been her constant caregiver and devoted friend especially since Chris passed away.   She was a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church. 

Friends and family will gather at the Eric MD Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana Tuesday, June, 1, 2021 from 10:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00. Burial will follow in the Lizton K of P Cemetery.
