Edna Louise (Garland Ashby) Bailey

Edna Louise Garland-Ashby-Bailey, 79 of Pittsboro, Indiana peacefully passed away on June 4, 2020 at Village of Avon Health and Rehabilitation.  Edna was born on October 7, 1940 to Ed and Essie (Ragan) Garland in Brownsburg, Indiana.  She graduated from Lizton High School in 1958.  Edna married Robert Ashby on April 2, 1961, and she later married Walter Bailey on June 29, 1974.  Edna worked for Stokely VanCamp and then Indiana Gas Company.  After retiring from Indiana Gas Company, she was a loving homemaker. 

In addition to her parents and husbands, Edna was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Susan; her sisters, Violet McClaine, Helen Plunkett, Gladys Graham, and Marie Haffner; and her brothers, Eldon, Elmer, and Ed Garland.

Edna is survived by her son, Phillip (wife Pam) Ashby; her two granddaughters, Haley and Maddie Ashby; her brother, Floyd (wife Loretta) Garland; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will gather at Eric MD Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro on Monday, June 8, 2020 from 12 pm to 1 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 1 pm.  Burial will follow in K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana.  All are requested to wear a mask and follow proper social distancing guidelines.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to be made to The National Kidney Foundation and The American Heart Association.
