Clara Jane Crooks

Clara Jane Crooks peacefully passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on June 13, 2022.  The following is a tribute they have written. 

Clara Jane Crooks was born on May 14, 2022, at Riley Hospital at 11:15 a.m. She overcame all deficits predicted before her birth, as she was diagnosed with Trisomy 18. She entered into this world with a special angel mission of spreading love everywhere she would go. She was with us for 30 miraculous days. Each day was a blessing and was a lesson for everyone that lived with her and got the chance to interact with her. She ensured that her last moments on Earth were spent with her parents and siblings before going back home on June 13, 2022, at 2:22 a.m.

Clara is survived by her parents, Zachariah and Jennifer (Oliver) Crooks; her siblings, Piper, Landon, Tenley, Rory, and Leo; her grandparents, Richard and Leona (Harding) Oliver of Pittsboro and Roger and Rhonda (Dowell) Crooks of Churubusco; her uncle, Jeremy (wife Suzi) Oliver of Albuquerque, NM; her aunt, Sephora Lortie of Fort Wayne; and her aunt, Renata King of Churubusco.  

Friends and family will gather at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home on Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 10 am to 12 pm.  A Celebration of Life will be held for Clara beginning at 12 pm.  

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Trisomy 18 Foundation or to the CuddleCot fund organized by her family.  CuddleCots give grieving families the opportunity to spend extra time with their angel babies.
