Clarence Joseph Gibbs (Casey), 86, of Pittsboro, Indiana, passed away in his home with his loving wife at his side. In true Irishman fashion, Casey was born on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1936, in Brownsburg, Indiana, to Clarence and Mary (Roach) Gibbs. Casey was one of 12 brothers & sisters. On June 13, 1957, he married Phyllis Stamm, and their union would last over 65 years.
He served his country in a 22-year decorated career in the United States Air Force, volunteering for the Vietnam War in 1971, receiving a Bronze Service Star, and several other commendations.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Gibbs (Stamm); four children, Elizabeth A Sams (Rob), Holly Gibbs Goodman, Patrick C Gibbs (Eliza) & Joseph K Gibbs ( Melissa). He is further survived by 14 grandchildren & 21 great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm. Casey will be laid to rest in St. Malachy West Cemetery, Pittsboro, IN.
