The following is an obituary written by Stacey's loving family.
Stacey Kathleen Lewis (Johnson) passed away on Monday, January 30th, at the age of 59.
Stacey passed in her home in Pittsboro, Indiana surrounded by her loved ones after a four-and- a-half-year battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Lewis; daughter, Kylie LaCorte (Nate); son, Conner Sheets; siblings: Stephanie Hensley (Bart), Scott Johnson (Cindy), Wendy Johnson, Joe Johnson (Tara); stepdaughter, Carly Lewis; stepson, Tommy Lewis; father, Jerry Johnson; eleven nieces and nephews, and three great-nieces.
Stacey was born to the late Sandra Kay Johnson (Madison) and Jerry Lee Johnson on July, 14th, 1963 in Danville, Indiana. Stacey and her four siblings grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana. Stacey graduated from Brownsburg High School in 1982 and went on to get her Associates Degree from Vincennes University. Stacey attended Saint Malachy in Brownsburg, Indiana and Mary Queen of Peace in Danville, Indiana.
Stacey was all about family and spending every moment she had with those she loved. Some of her favorite things to do included traveling down to Florida to spend time with her Aunt and Uncle, taking walks around town with her dog, Wrenley, cooking pizzas for her friends and family, and gathering together with all of her family for the holidays and other special occasions.
Stacey was all about making sure that those around her were taken care of and loved. She was known for her infectious laugh, her dependable nature, her kind and nurturing heart, and for being a good listener. Stacey will be missed by all…family, friends, and those who just saw her strolling around town. She was a light in our lives and her memory will shine on forever. Services for Stacey will be held on Tuesday, February 7th at the Eric MD Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana. Doors will open at 6 pm with services beginning at 7 pm. The family encourages all who knew Stacey to come join in the celebration of her life.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in loving memory of Stacey.
