Shirley Ann Steadham, 81, of Brownsburg, Indiana, passed away on May 15, 2026, in Avon, Indiana.
Born on November 17, 1944, in Indianapolis to her parents, Ed and Thelma Sturm, Shirley grew up in Decatur. She spent her life loving and caring for those around her and was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness and compassion touched many lives. Shirley was the kind of person who would do anything to help others, always bringing warmth, comfort, and light wherever she went.
Shirley married the love of her life, Ronald “Ronnie” Steadham, after they met at a diner where she was working while he was home from the Navy. Together, they built a beautiful life and welcomed their son, Matthew, who was truly their pride and joy.
She retired from a printing press company after many years of hard work and dedication. In her free time, Shirley enjoyed playing bingo, visiting casinos with her friends, and especially loved vacationing in Gulf Shores, Alabama, where she made many cherished memories with family and loved ones.
Shirley leaves behind her beloved son, Matthew Steadham, and his wife, Maria; her grandchildren, Brandon Steadham, Jordyn Peterson, Stella Steadham, and Sophie Steadham; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Braeden, Madelyn, Mackenzie, Michaela, Mia, Julian, Marvin, Isaiah, and Jonah. She is also survived by her sister, Vicki Inclenrock, and her brothers, Mike Sturm and Tom Sturm.
Though her earthly journey has ended, Shirley now spends eternity with Jesus and her beloved husband, Ronnie. Her love, strength, and gentle spirit will continue to live on through the family and friends who were blessed to know her.
