Patricia "Kaye" Brunes, 82 of North Salem, Indiana, peacefully passed away on February 2, 2026.
Kaye Brunes was born July 15, 1943, to Floyd and Audra (Pace) Loveless in Lizton, Indiana. A 1961 graduate of Lizton High School, she married Alvin Brunes on June 8, 1962. Together they had one daughter, Peggy, of Bargersville, Indiana.
Kaye had a lifelong passion for accounting, serving at Bob Porter Insurance and Funeral Home for over 30 years before working as a tax preparer at H&R Block. Outside of her professional life, she found great joy in canning for her family and tending to their Belted Galloway cattle. An avid sports enthusiast, she was a constant fixture at the sporting events and activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Keith Loveless.
Kaye is survived by her husband of nearly 64 years, Alvin; her daughter, Peggy (Bill) Riggles; and her grandchildren: Tammy (Blair) Lane, Kristy (Greg) Buckingham, and Nick (Anna) Riggles. She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren, Dexton and Kayson Lane and Elliot Buckingham; her sister, Karen (Loveless) Covey; several nieces and nephews; and her loyal dog, Josie.
Friends and family will gather for visitation on February 14, 2026, at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana, from 10 am to 12 pm, with the memorial service honoring Kaye's life beginning at 12 pm. Kaye will be laid to rest in K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana alongside her mother and father.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Health in loving memory of Kaye.
