Myra Lou Howell

Myra Lou Reynolds Howell, 86, of Indianapolis, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior August 8, 2026. She was born July 11, 1940, to the late Claude T. and Mary O. (Waters) Reynolds. Myra was raised in Pittsboro, Indiana and was a 1958 graduate of Pittsboro High School. During her school years, she was active in the band and choir. She had an exceptional singing voice. Myra and her older sister, Mary Anne, sang in the church and school choirs together. Their singing echoed with a unique melodious harmony.

Myra was happily married to Crit Howell for 17 years until his death on June 8, 2010. She was a faithful servant to the Lord. Myra loved the companionship of her church family, especially the “Church Chicks”, a women’s group from church who would get together for luncheons. A lot of love, fun, and laughter happened when they got together.

Myra also loved the outdoors. She used to go camping, hiking, traveling, and shopping at antique malls and garage sales. Over the last few years, she loved spending time with her family, especially her brother Phil and his children.

Myra is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Mary Anne Good. She is survived by her brothers, John “Jack” Reynolds (Patricia), Avon, IN, and Phillip Reynolds, Mount Dora, FL; as well as nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 pm, on August 15, 2026, at the Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home. The funeral service honoring Myra Lou’s life will immediately follow visitation. Graveside services will then follow at the K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Christian Church of New Palestine, Indiana.
