Marvin B. Ferguson

May 28, 1927 — May 19, 2025

Brownsburg, Indiana

Marvin Beachell Ferguson, 97 of Brownsburg, Indiana, peacefully passed away on May 19, 2025 with loved ones by his side. Marvin was born in Cyclone, Kentucky to Floyd and Ada (Bowles) Ferguson on May 28, 1927. He faithfully served his country during World War II in the United States Army. Marvin married the love of his life, Betty, on November 16, 1952, in Danville, Indiana. Their marriage was a loving union that would last until Betty's passing in 2013. He had a long-lasting career of 43 years with Hittle Machine and Tool as a talented tool and die maker, and he was also a gifted woodworker. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, spending time gardening, hiking, mushrooming and canoeing. Marvin was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church coordinating worship usher coverage for several years, active as sanctuary steward and member of the men’s prayer group. Marvin will be dearly missed as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather and friend. Marvin was easy to love.

Marvin is survived by his son, David Ferguson (Janelle); his grandson, Matthew Ferguson (Debi); great grandson Daniel Ferguson (Danielle); great granddaughter Dinah Powell (Josh) and their daughter Delilah. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Ann Ferguson and grandson Michael Sander.

Marvin was very proud of his full extended family. He had the honor of being the last living Uncle or Aunt on both sides of his marital union. He cherished reunions, phone calls and visits to keep current and offer support to his full extended family.

Visitation hours will be 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 575 W. Northfield Dr. Brownsburg 46112. A funeral service will follow at 11:15 AM with Pastors Jolita Erbele and Michelle Knight officiating. Following a luncheon for extended family at the church, Marvin will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors at 3pm the same day.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions directed to Calvary United Methodist Church would honor Marvin’s heartfelt love toward his church family.

Arrangements are entrusted to Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home of Pittsboro, Indiana. All are encouraged to keep Marvin's family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time of loss.
