Marcia Myers was born on September 10, 1950, and passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025.
Marcia retired from Raytheon, where she worked for many years, and later helped her brother Kim at his newspaper business. Her true heart also spent much time caring for her beloved mother, Phyllis. She was a “Professor of Life” — deeply funny, fiercely intelligent, and always thoughtful of others, right up until her final breath when she was arguing with Iann and Jenny about how much to spend on flowers for her doctor: "Not $100.00 — do $300.00! Do you hear me?"
She was a generous giver, but she also knew how to save money — a rare and admirable balance.
Marcia loved camping and playing poker with Iann and friends, always making sure there were plenty of s’mores and sausage gravy for all. She loved going home to Indiana to visit family, staying with her brother and Barb at the lake, fishing, and (preferably) winning more card games.
She was always interested in what was going on in the lives of her loved ones, often calling just to check in and catch up. She never missed a birthday, graduation, or milestone — no matter how far from home. She also loved Disney, diamonds, her bling, Bentleys, and Corvettes. She enjoyed collecting frogs, flamingos, and friends while frolicking in Florida — and was especially proud of her pool."Have you seen my pool? Don’t forget your suit!"
Marcia was deeply loved by her local community, her neighborhood, her many friends and family — and most especially by Iann. Her kindness and quick wit left a lasting impact on all our lives.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; grandparents; aunts; uncles; brother, Rudy Myers (Barbara); and great-nephew, Brian Myers (Michele).
She is survived by her loving partner of 33 years, Iann Butterman; her siblings, Kim Adair, Jeannen Ridner, Terry Myers, Greg Oliver, and Michael Langdon; her nieces and nephews, Bill Myers (Lisa), Jenny Williams (Jay), Stephanie, Haylie, Stephen, Jessica (Adam) Martin, and Victoria (Josh) Morris; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved dearly.
We all called her “Sarge in Charge” — not just because she liked to be in charge, but because she did it with humor, heart, and just the right amount of sass. She kept us laughing, kept us in line (including her nurses during her time in hospice), and most of all, she kept us feeling loved and accepted.
Sarge, as you take your final boat ride with your brother and wave goodbye, know we will do our best to carry on your legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty. You will both forever be in our hearts.
Funeral Services will be held at 12pm, Thursday, June 5, 2025, in Eric MD Bell Funeral Home, where friends are invited to gather with the family from 10 am until the time of the service. Following the funeral service, she will be laid to rest in the Lizton K of P Cemetery, Lizton, IN.
All are encouraged to keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time of loss.
