Karen K. Mendez

Karen Kaye Mendez, 45, of Danville, Indiana, passed away December 12, 2019 in Hendricks Regional Health in Danville, with her loving family by her side.

Karen was born November 21, 1974 in Fort Worth, Texas to Edward and Carolyn (Woods) Tutton.  She obtained a bachelor’s degree from Texas Baptist University and worked in administration for Hyles-Anderson College and First Baptist Church of Hammond.  She enjoyed reading Cherry Ames books and scrolling through Instagram.  She also loved to decorate, getting ideas from watching HGTV.  On February 19, 2011, she married Daniel Mendez.  Together they explored so many new, exciting places and restaurants, but the traveling foodies also loved being home together to watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.  Their greatest adventure, their beloved son Daniel Landon Mendez, is four years old. Karen's faith was extremely important to her; putting her faith in Christ as a child her life was lived in service to Christ and others.

In addition to her parents, husband, and son; Karen is survived by her brother and her siblings, Jon Tutton (Linda), Kim Whitehead (Josh), and Kathy Meester (Kirk).

A Celebration of Karen's life will be held at 6pm in Westbridge Baptist Church in Danville, IN on Tuesday, December 17, where friends and family will gather from 4pm until the time of service.

An additional Celebration of Life Service will be held the following day, Wednesday, December  18 at 1:30 pm (Local Time) at Memory Lane Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Crown Point, IN, where friends and family will gather from 10 am until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest in the cemetery, following the service.
