John M. Stephenson

John Matthew Stephenson, 61, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on May 27, 2025, soon after suffering a heart attack while playing basketball. John was born in Orange, Texas, to Billy Lynne Stephenson and Betty Hamilton Ford. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being on the water. Many will remember John for his mentorship and acceptance of others, no matter their past.

John is survived by his wife, Donna Barnhart Stephenson of Crawfordsville; his daughter Leah, and grandaughters Tatiana and Harmony of Connecticut; his mother, Betty Hamilton Ford of Louisiana; siblings Robert (Gayle) Stephenson of Texas, Rhonda (Phil) LaFleur of Louisiana, David Stephenson of New York, Linda (Jeff) Jackson of Texas; granddaughters Brooklyn and Brittany of Crawfordsville, and grandson Aiden of Missouri. He is preceded in death by his father, Billy Lynne Stephenson of Texas.

A celebration of life is being planned in September, date to be determined.
