It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jimmie Dale Reid Junior, age 31, of Indianapolis, Indiana, who left us too soon on March 24, 2026. Jimmie, also lovingly known as Junior to some, was known for his vibrant spirit, contagious humor, and passion for his family, friends, and the Michigan State Spartans. He brought joy to his family, friends, and coworkers and will be remembered for his ability to make everyone feel seen and at home.

Born on March 31, 1994, to Jimmie Dale Reid Senior and Dana Marie (Richards) Reid in Ludington, Michigan, Jimmie was an avid daredevil in the best way and always loved learning how the world worked. He loved asking as many questions as possible and being a self-proclaimed “sponge” of any and all information, especially surrounding cars, sports, and his newfound hobby of riding his motorcycle. Above all else, his greatest joy was being a father to his young son and seeing the world from a toddler’s perspective. He was excited to be welcoming a baby girl in the coming weeks and getting to experience all the things that “girl dad life” had to offer.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Alyssa (Reed) Reid; his three-year-old son, Jimmie Dale Reid III; and an unborn baby girl. He is also survived by his parents, Jim and Dana; his sister, Megan; his grandmother Linda, whom he lovingly called “Squishy Face”; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, two young nieces, and a newborn nephew. Jimmie was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother and grandfather, as well as his paternal step-grandmother.

While he will be missed beyond measure, his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know and love him. To know Jimmie was to love Jimmie.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Following the funeral, there will be a time of fellowship and memories held at the Pittsboro Golf Course Clubhouse.

While flowers are welcome and appreciated, the family encourages everyone to explore donations in Jimmie’s name to Riley Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, as these were both causes he supported passionately throughout the year.
