Frances Daniels, 88 of Danville, IN formerly of Whiting, IN passed away on October 2, 2026 surrounded by her daughters. Frances was born in Gary, IN on Jan 17, 1938 to her parents, Nunzio and Mary Randazzo. She married Vincent Daniels in Aug of 1961 and was a devoted wife. Vincent died in 2022. She is survived by three daughters: Laura (Reed) Blair, Diane (Steve) McManus and Helen (Joel) Calvin and her five grandchildren: Veronica, Thurman, Brett, Abigail and Arthur.
Frances and Vincent retired and moved to a large home in Demotte for their growing family to visit. Frances earned a master’s degree in education at Indiana University. She started in the Hammond Public School System and retired from the Gary Diocese in 1994. Besides everyday teaching, her favorite might have been the summer enrichment sessions that she developed. She enjoyed teaching so much that after her 30 year career, she worked as a substitute teacher after moving to Demotte. Her hobby of ceramics has filled her daughters’ homes with cherished pieces. She enjoyed music and attended many concerts with Vincent. Holidays at her home were filled with music, games, and laughter.
Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Mary Queen of Peace in Danville, Indiana at 10 am for an hour of visitation. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am. Frances will be laid to rest on the following day, Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Calvary Cemetery in Portage, Indiana at 1pm Eastern Time, 12 noon Central Time.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
Amen
