Dylan Gordon

Dylan Gordon, 26 of Danville, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2025. The following is an obituary written by his loving family.

It is with overwhelming sadness that we share the passing of Dylan Blake Gordon, a devoted father, cherished son, loyal brother, uncle, nephew and true friend whose life—though far too brief—was a testament to living each day with a big heart, HUMOR, and a passion for adventures big and small.

Dylan was born on February 28, 1999, in Danville, Indiana, to Chris Gordon and Cindy Gordon. Dylan made a lasting impact on everyone he met from a young age. He was a student athlete at Cascade High School class of 2017. After graduation, Dylan joined the family business as an iron worker at GCC Steel Erectors, where he worked side by side with his father. He had a special bond with his father and outside work they enjoyed time together in the “Shop” where it was more than just a workspace; it was a retreat where they shared laughter, wisdom, and life stories over a cold beer or two, with the Harley and Can-Am parked nearby as a symbol of their shared adventures.

One of his mom's favorite memories of Dylan is how much he loved when she cooked for him, especially when it came to something as simple as hamburger. He'd always make sure to remind her "Don't rinse the hamburger, Mom". Like it was a crime against the flavor, lol. He would say the reason was the grease is where the taste lived, and he wasn't about to let her wash that away. It became their little joke, but really, it was his way of telling her he loved when she cooked for him. She would give anything to hear him say that one more time.

Dylan's greatest joy was his two beautiful daughters, Lucy (3) and Letty (1). He was a devoted “Daddy”, and his girls adored him. His dream was to spend the rest of his life watching them grow and flourish, and though that dream was cut short, his love and influence will continue to guide them. Dylans’ memory and stories will live on through them.

From the moment Dylan was young, he was rarely seen without the roar of motorized vehicles around him. He lived life on his terms, always chasing thrills and making memories. His beloved truck and loyal dogs, Diesel and Dax, were constant companions on his many adventures. Whether hunting, fishing, boating, or sharing music, Dylan loved making memories with his friends and family and enjoying good times with everyone.

Dylan was deeply loved and cherished by his family and countless friends he proudly called family. Dylan had a magnetic personality that drew people to him and he was always the LIFE OF THE PARTY; his goofy charm and contagious laughter could bring joy when it was needed the most. Dylan rode hard for his people. His friends knew him as a badass, compassionate, rowdy ass, big-hearted, full-of-life person they loved having by their side. Though his departure leaves us brokenhearted, his memory will be our guiding light, reminding us to live life fully and cherish every moment. 

Dylan is survived by his daughters, Lucille May Young (Lucy) and Loretta Fay Gordon (Letty); their mother, Aliyah Young; his father, Chris (Jerianne) Gordon; his mother, Cindy Gordon; his grandparents, Dianne (Bob) Flynn-Burman and Jerry Brunner; his brothers, Jacob and Jeremy Wells and Justice (Kate) Archer; his sister, Lauren Archer; his aunt, Jennifer (Phillip) Jones and uncle, Sean Flynn; his nieces, Kallie Poore, Kinsley Poore, and Adalyn Archer; his nephews, Ashton Archer, Owen Archer,  and Samson Archer; his cousins, Kennady Jones and Cailynn Jones; and his loyal dog, Dax.

In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established for his beloved daughters, Lucy and Letty. Your contributions will help honor Dylan's wish to provide the best possible life for his girls.

Visitation will be held at Hazelwood Christian Church on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 3pm to 7pm, with the funeral service beginning at 7pm. He will be laid to rest in a private family graveside service at St. Malachy Cemetery, Brownsburg.
