Debra M. Ramsey

Debra M. "Debbie" Proffitt Ramsey, 66 of Pittsboro, Indiana, passed away, May 15, 2025, in Avon, Indiana, surrounded by her loved ones. 

Debbie was a proud resident of Pittsboro, Indiana, where she lived with her husband of 40 years, Pat Ramsey. Debbie was a graduate of Brownsburg High School, and in her early life, served as an EMT. She then dedicated her time to raising her children and being a homemaker. Starting in 1994 through 1998 Debbie worked at the Pittsboro Elementary School cafeteria before starting with the Indiana Department of Corrections where she served as a corrections officer from 2001 to 2020, when she retired. Debbie loved to spend time in her garden. She also loved to crochet and make crafts for her family, including four sons, 10 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Proffit; brother, Ray Proffit; and grandson, Austin Shoef. She is survived by her father, Paul Proffitt; brothers, Ernie Proffitt and David Proffitt; sons, Art (Paula), Josh (Erin), Bob (Jessica), Patrick (Lacy); daughter-in-law, Tabitha Kimble; grandchildren, Savannah, Josh, Nakia, Lance, Kynadee, Ayden, Addison, Owen, and Hunter; and four great-grandchildren, Carsyn, Weyln, Blakely, and Oliver.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Pittsboro, where a private family funeral will be held. All are encouraged to keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time of loss.
