Obituary

Dale Alan Jarrett, 75, of Avon, Indiana lost his hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer on March 21, 2026, passing peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones.

Dale was born on November 10, 1950, to his late parents Robert and Dorothia (Dot) Jarrett. After finishing school, Dale began his career as a truck driver for Phoenix Fabricators & Erectors in Avon, Indiana where he later retired. He was part of a team of drivers and longtime friends who delivered parts for the erection of water towers all over the United States. Because of his time with Phoenix, every road trip was filled with stories of his travels. From his knowledge of every interstate to every “see that water tower over there, I built it”, his time in the driver seat filled those he loved with memories of where he’d been and all the best places to eat!

Dale was an avid NASCAR fan. He could be found watching every race February-November. Dale had the opportunity to visit several tracks to see the action in person. Next to NASCAR, Dale was a fan of most sports cheering on the Colts, Pacers, Fever, IU, Purdue, and whatever team was playing. He was a big fan of Westerns and regularly tuned in to watch The Young and the Restless. When Dale was not enjoying his favorite shows, he spent time making sure his lawn was kept beautifully mowed and his garden was bursting with delicious fresh veggies.

Dale is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, James (Mike) and Patricia Jarrett of Avon, their children (Brian Jarrett and Michelle Taylor) and their grandchildren. He also had the pleasure of sharing his life with his longtime companion and loving caretaker, Verlie Witcher, his family by choice, The Witchers, his many, many friends and his pride and joy, his granddaughter by choice, Karlee Witcher.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Eric MD Bell Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hendricks County.
