Cheri Ann Monroe

Cheri Ann Monroe, 60 of Brownsburg, Indiana, peacefully passed away in her home on February 27, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.  She was born in Dayton, Ohio on January 28, 1961.

The following is from her husband, David:

Cheri Ann Monroe was the most loving and giving person I have ever known.  Her passion for lifting people up was her driving force and she was always guided by the word of God.

She loved everyone she met and enjoyed spending her time with her kids and grandkids, teaching them what life and love are all about.

She loved to travel and experience all that this beautiful life has to offer, and I will take her with me on the journeys we planned together.

She taught me the importance of giving without reservation and to not judge others based on my own beliefs, but to try to see their views.  Our life together was full of love and compassion.  Her strength during tough times made my life easier and for that I will be eternally grateful.

She had an associate degree in CEET.  She was a hard worker when able and enjoyed joining me on the job as often as possible.

Cheri is preceded in death by her father, Carl W. Schmidt, Jr. and her brother, Jason Spitler.  She is survived by her loving husband, David Monroe; her mother, Mary E. Spitler; her sister, Teri A. Monroe; her brothers, Carl W. Schmidt III and Lance R. Spitler; her children, John Roddy, Leah Terrell, Joshua Terrell, and Mary Gordon; her stepchildren, Atoka Brown, Margaret Parks, Tabitha Monroe, and Amanda Davis; her grandchildren, Gavin Shafer and Ryder Shafer; and her nephews, Jayden Brown, Ryan Brown, Jayce Parks, and Leon Parks.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Good Shephard Methodist Church in Park Layne, Ohio.  The memorial service will be followed by a reception in the gathering room in the basement of the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
