Mrs. Charlotte Mosley, 94 of Pittsboro, Indiana, peacefully passed away on October 21, 2025. The following is an obituary written by her loving family.
Charlotte Jane (Brock) Mosley, age 94, passed peacefully to her eternal home on October 21, 2025, in Danville, IN. Jane was born April 19, 1931, in Coalgood, KY to Victoria (Marshall) and James Andrew Brock, both preceded her in death. Jane grew up in Mary Helen Coal Community and was a proud member of Mary Helen United Methodist Church. Jane was the baby of the family and was preceded in death by her siblings, Ada “Midge” Gross, Marion “Neice” Carter, Willie Dorothy Brock, James “Bud” Brock, and Roy “Don” Brock. Jane’s faith in The Lord was absolute. She lived life according to her Christian values and instilled in her family a love of and trust in The Lord. Jane joined Pittsboro United Methodist Church in 1962 and joyfully served her church community until her death.
Fellowship and family were Jane’s priorities in life. Jane married her beloved husband, Charles “Charley” Richard Mosley, in 1953. Charles preceded her in death in January of 2000. The loss of her husband was devastating for Jane; however, she continued living her life with her devoted family by her side. Jane loved to travel. She and Charley had many travel plans before he passed. Jane’s children and grandchildren happily ensured she completed those travel plans and had many more adventures. Jane was a loving mother to her four children. She is survived by Vicki Ann (Mike) Stidham, Deborah Sue (Mike) Clem, David Andrew Mosley and Marion Jane (Michael) Brooks. Jane was such a devoted mother that family lore reports that she left her job to stay home with those four “rambunctious” children after Jane’s mother and Charley’s mother both quit babysitting duties. Jane was preceded in death by her sons-in-law, Steven “Mike” Stidham and Mike Clem.
While Jane was known to be a strict mother, she was very indulging to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family lore also reports that Jane so enjoyed being a grandmother and great-grandmother that she may have actually spoiled her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, whom all survive her. Jane’s grandchildren include Tami Stidham, Jason (Kristina) Stidham, Christina (Jason) Fletcher, Angela (James) Gregory, Samuel (Mariah) Brooks, and Seth Brooks. Her great-grandchildren include William “Trey” Ferrill, Payton Stidham, Jackson Fletcher, Jaren Fletcher, Walter Lee Wells, Nathaniel Gregory, and Julian Brooks. Jane’s family already profoundly miss her presence and guidance. She was deeply loved and respected by her entire family.
