Bill Brown

Bill Brown, 88, most recently of Madisonville, TN, passed away September 13, 2026.  

While on this earth, Bill lived fully and lived his convictions, some of which were quite unconventional.  He once said he would worry about himself if EVERYONE liked him, because that would indicate he didn't stand firmly enough.  In spite of that, though, Bill had a soft heart and kindness to share.  He enjoyed the good things in life, his favorites being good books, good jazz, good bourbon, and good company.  His beloved partner, Sandy, was an actual chef, and so he really got to enjoy good food, too (even if his very favorite was hot dogs).  Bill forgot his vegetarianism after having a hot dog in the Dallas Airport (so maybe not ALL his convictions were unchanging).  Bill appreciated art as well, from abstract sculpture to Southwestern themes to the animation of Looney Tunes.  He had a funny sense of humor. 

Bill is preceded in death by his beloved partner, Sandy DeWitt Anderson.  He is survived by his dear friends, Mike, Michelle, and Madeline Neyenhaus; Jordan Coleman; Shanna Darr; Megan and Eric Bell; Eliza Roland and Evelyn Bell; as well as countless people on whom he undoubtedly left a big impression.

Arrangements are entrusted to Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Pittsboro, Indiana.  All are encouraged to keep Bill and his friends in their prayers.
