Aric N. Shipman

Aric N. Shipman, 56, of Brownsburg, Indiana, passed away on July 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 29, 1970, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Aric was the son of William "Bill" and Jo Ann (Chambers) Shipman. He graduated from Brownsburg High School in 1989 and went on to become a member of Electrical Union IBEW Local 481 for 24 years. He was also a talented mechanic and welder who could fix just about anything placed in front of him. Aric was also a member of the Indy West Great Banquet Community (IWGB #15).

He was the owner and operator of Hendricks County Steel Supply in Brownsburg, where his creativity and craftsmanship came to life in every project. Whether designing custom pieces or repairing what others thought couldn't be fixed, Aric took pride in his work and the people he served.

Aric was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bruce and Betty Shipman, and Ralph and June Chambers; and by his brother-in-law, John Sandlin.

He is survived by his sons, Adam (Courtney) and Alex (Adrianna); his former wife, Jenni; his granddaughter, Catalina; his stepson, Justin; his parents, Bill and Jo Shipman; his brothers, Ryan (Shannon)and Collin (Amanda); his sister, Sybil Sandlin; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Throughout his life, Aric loved fixing cars and was an avid NASCAR fan. But his greatest joy was his boys, Adam and Alex. He loved watching races with them, sharing his skills, and seeing the lessons he taught carry into their adult lives.

Though he will be greatly missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is now in the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, restored to perfect health and free from pain.

The family encourages friends and loved ones to honor Aric's memory by keeping his family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
