The following is an obituary written by her loving family.

Anstiss C. Miller, 95, of Avon, passed away on January 4, 2025.  She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on August 26, 1929, to Edwin N. and Harriet B. Ohl.

After graduating from Ethel Walker School in 1947, Anstiss met Midshipman Thomas (Tim) G. Miller at an Annapolis weekend.  Anstiss and Tim married in 1950. They had two children and lived in Hingham, Massachusetts.

Anstiss was a member of Episcopal Church Women at St. John the Evangelist Church in Hingham, and she volunteered for WGBH Public Television in Boston.

Widowed in 1971, Anstiss moved to Florida and began a new life.  She always regretted not attending college. Encouraged by her friends and family, she attended and graduated from Brevard Community College, then went on to earn two bachelor's degrees in English Studies and Philosophy at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

In 2016, Anstiss moved to Avon, Indiana to be closer to her family.

A devout Christian, Anstiss's faith guided her throughout her life.  Anstiss will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her kind spirit and enduring strength will leave a lasting legacy for all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her daughter, Anstiss (Ann) Crowninshield Wynn; her grandchildren, Eric S. Vorm (Jennifer), Thomas Vorm (Kimberly); and her four great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Eric MD Bell Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Pittsboro, IN.

All are encouraged to keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of loss.
